Corporate Leave of Absence policy overview for retail associates.
Design tool: Adobe Pagemaker
I've made my home base, for now, in the Redmond, WA area. My journey into technology and technical writing started in 1996 where I found myself in a job that was a natural fit for me; I was taking support calls for a large computer company troubleshooting hardware and software. Then in 1999, I decided to get a degree in Computer System Administration with a minor in programming. While working as an IT professional, I intuitively wrote content for the teams I supported, which turned out to be another natural fit for me.
After my technical writing career took off, I made it a point to keep learning about the profession and growing professionally. I also made it a point to learn hands-on about new technology and programming languages. Even in recent months, I have added full-stack web development skills so that I can write better developer content.
I am a big picture person. I do my best work when I understand the goals behind a project, its scope, and the whole big picture. I get most of my ideas when I can picture how my work fits into the grand scheme.
No matter the audience, I am passionate about their journey and their success. I've mostly written for IT professionals, but I have experience with user/consumer and developer audiences.
Because I'm a big picture person, my knowledge and expertise are quite vast and diverse.
I'm always looking for a new problem to solve, so if you've got a doozy you need a hand with, feel free to contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When you need help with complex technical content, web content, or UX/UI writing I can help you from gathering your business requirements to delivery. I specialize in knowledge bases, white papers, and installation and configuration guides.
In addition to technical writing, I can work with you to design attention getting newsletters, brochures, and flyers. Not only can you rely on me for your print design needs, I can also design digital newsletters for email campaign.
You can trust me to take a design comp and quickly convert it into a webpage that is pixel-perfect match. My focus is writing clean, well-formatted HTML5 by hand to make sure that the content is easy to read, troubleshoot and accessible.
Let's meet for coffee!
